At least two sex offenders in Texas who obtained Viagra thanks to a Clinton administration mandate went on to commit new sex crimes, Texas State officials say. Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott told the Dallas Morning News on Saturday that a Bexar County man who obtained the impotence drug using the state's Medicaid program sexually assaulted a 53-year-old woman two months later, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Another Bexar County man, said Abbott, was charged with indecency with a child earlier this year after receiving state-funded Viagra since 2001. Both men are now in prison.

In 1998, the Clinton administration issued a directive mandating that state Medicaid programs supply Viagra to those who could not afford to pay for the drug themselves. Last week, New York State comptroller Alan Hevesi discovered that 198 sex offenders in New York were receiving Viagra thanks to the Clinton mandate.

Reacting to the news, Westchester County District Attorney Jeanine Pirro said that the Clinton Viagra giveaway had likely spurred additional sex attacks in her state as well. "My office has prosecuted cases where pedophiles have used Viagra on children," she told Fox News. "86-year-old pedophiles are using Viagra so they can continue to molest our children."

After Hevesi's revelation, New York Sen. Hillary Clinton complained that giving Viagra to sex ofenders was "deeply disturbing and runs contrary to the purpose of Medicaid." But Pirro - a prospective challenger to Sen. Clinton next year - offered sharper comments, saying she was "outraged" by the Viagra giveaway and complaining, "By paying for their Viagra, it amounts to state-assisted sexual assault."
